I don’t usually get a chance to say much about student films because, well, I don’t personally know a lot of filmmakers and so far I just keep getting contacted by one guy to plug his film about ghosts. Anyway, for a nice change of pace (by which I mean, posting content for a change) I present to you a short film by my friend Katherine Murphy.
Puppet Times (2010) is short and sweet and a little strange, but in a way I love. For a beginning filmmaker, I think Katherine does a pretty good job of striking the balance between humor and pathos. But maybe I’m just saying that because I’m biased. In any case, take 6:30 minuets out of your day to watch a short film with what will probably will be the second best puppet film you will see this year. The best will, of course, have to be the new Muppet movie.
